M3 (to East side down 5th Ave and museum mile to Guggenheim, MET, etc..), M116 crosstown, M7 downtown West side, and five minutes walk to central park. It’s easy to get anywhere from here- see my reviews!
The apartment has another bedroom/study, which is not for rent - when I am in town I stay there.
Also close by is the Columbia University campus, many great restaurants are around the corner on 'restaurant row' of Harlem (aka Frederick Douglass Blvd between West 112th-125th Sts). Super markets, organic grocery stores, wine bars, bars with live music are all within walking distance. Lido, Harlem Tavern, Melba's, Zoma, 67 Orange St, and the Bier Bar, Jado Sushi are a few of my favorite restaurants near me.
About the apartment:
I’ve set things up to be simple and comfortable. There is ample storage space for your things, a Temurpedic double-bed with 100% cotton linen, a well-appointed kitchen if you like to cook (VitaMix blender, pressure cooker, microwave, toaster oven, etc), a washing machine (and outdoor clothesline), wifi, AC, and filtered water.
Linens, towels and continental breakfast provided. I have maps, guidebooks, a list of great places in the neighborhood and plenty of info on museums, bike rentals, etc.
I have a few simple rules: Nonsmokers only please, and please remove your shoes in the entryway to my apartment.
About the building:
The building is more than 100 years old and has no elevator. My apartment is on the 5th floor so you must walk up 4 flights of stairs! If you need assistance with your luggage and I am available, I will assist. My trustworthy neighbor has my spare key and will greet you if I can't be there for any reason. The building is secure and has an intercom and buzzer and security cameras.
**(FAVOR DE LLENAR SU PERFIL E INCLUIR SU FOTO ANTES DE PEDIR ALOJAMIENTO) Mi limpio y agradable apartamento está situado junto a Morningside Park en el Upper
Manhatttan.
Herbal teas, coffee and fresh bread and spreads provided at no extra cost.
I would like all my guests to enjoy their time here and respectfully ask that you treat me and my home with respect and consideration. I will do the same.
**Complete your profile before booking: Have you been to NYC/USA before? What you would like to do while you are here? What do you do in your country? What languages do you speak? Basically, anything that gives me a better sense of who you are before I invite you into my home will speed up the booking process. And of course, feel free to ask me anything as well!

Elise is very friendly, helpful and a good host. It was our first time with Windu but we had a great time. The appartment was cozy and the bed was good. The neighbourhood is save with a lot of restaurants and the metro round the corner. Thank you for having a great time Elise.
We have had a wonderful time at Elize's place! She is a very nice friendly and helpfull person! If you want to, you can get any information about nice places. The room is clean and we liked the Bagels very much! We went around with her bikes, wich was very much fun to do! And we felt in love with Harlem! A very beautiful place to stay, friendly people, relaxing place to stay! I would really recommanded this cozy hut from Elise! She is a super host and we would come back next time!
Elise is super friendly, helpful and careful. We felt immediately like home, she gave us a lot of suggestions. We specially enjoyed the bike tour!
She is a very interesting person and can make your stay in nyc really great!
The apartment is very cozy and clean (the bed is unforgettably good!!!). Room is silent and the neighborhood has lots of shops and restaurants, Convenient to subway station and a few minutes away from Central Park.
We already miss her, even after spending a wonderful afternoon out with her!!
Elise was a awesome host. Very friendly and helpful. The apartment was in great Harlem. I feel save everytime there. We had a lot of interesting conversations and it was very funny with her.
It was great to stay in Elise apartment and maybe once a time I will come back again.
What an amazing experience to see NYC for a first time. Elise's appartement is a wonderful and original tiny oasis in the south of Harlem. Subway station is really near and yor reach central park after a few minutes by feed.
Elise was down on the street in front of the building the moment we arrived. She was very helpful and gave us a lot of interesting and useful information, a cool drink and a refreshing shower after a long trip. Thank you Elise for everything, enjoy the swiss chocolat and we'll be back.
If you want to make your New York trip special, Elise´s cozy hut is the place to go! After 5 miunutes we already felt like family members. Elise is so nice and open-minded. Our bed was really comfortable, we slept well from the start. The flat is really clean and makes you feel at home immediately. Our breakfast (bagles with cream cheese and jam plus coffee) was delicious. She also has a great selection of teas if you are more into that. Elise had lots of fabulous tips, no matter what topic: Harlem food and restaurants (do not miss Taco Mix!) , shopping and not to forget planning a bike trip (awesome experinence). Harlem itself is a fantastic neighborhood today, we always felt safe and had a great night at the famous Apollo Theatre. The subway station is just some minutes away from the ap, so you are downtown quickly! We would always prefer Elise`s cozy hut to some fancy downtown hotel because in the end we sometimes felt like two real New Yorkers. When we come bacvk to New York we will surely check in at Elise`s and hope to see this amazing person and her wonderful ap again soon!
We had a great time in the nice flat of Elise in New York. The room is small but very comfortable and you can use the whole flat. The site of the flat is very good. Elise is a lovely host. She gave us a lot of good advises and we estimated the discussions we had with her.
Best wishes, Susanne and Peter
It was our first trip with wimdu - and a complete success.
Cozy hut is a good name for the home from Elise. The area is located northwest of Central Park and is well connected by subway. Supermarket and restaurants are within a few minutes. She's was very friendly and helpful to us. We feel us very well in her apartment. Your welcome round through her neighborhood has made us the same amount of fun. Thanks for your many tips that have our full schedule but still rounded. A bike ride we have to move to a next time. It was very hard for us after one week to say goodbye.
thank you for all ! We come back again !

We were in NY for 4 days and staying at Elise's apartment was really nice! She knows everything about the city and we really enjoyed her company! The position of the apartment is very good, the room is clean and comfortable! We'll definitely go there again!
Both my daughter and her studymate worked over one year to afford a trip of one week in New York. They had high expectations. Unfortunatly the apartment wasn't clean at arrival. Dirty dishes in the sink, things stuffed in every possible corner of the place. The host expressed her unsatisfied thoughts about both girls more than once As said by Elise, both girls were inmature (because they (17 years old) followed their parents rules not going outside at night and never ate at Mc Donalds for instance). I wonder who is inmature considering the fact this host was the one expressing the negative feelings about these both very grown up all the time?!? You might think the girls are to blame, but before their visit to NY they stayed with a host in Baltimore where they were part of the household (took their responsibilty) and had a very nice time. The woman, a teacher of kids the same age, even told our daughter and her friend they were very grown up in comparisson with US kids. Well, at least one thing is clear for Elise, which she spoke out loud as well, no kids anymore. Unfortunately a year of work for 5 nights New York has become a huge disallusion for both girls. I feel so sorry for them!
