M3 (to East side down 5th Ave and museum mile to Guggenheim, MET, etc..), M116 crosstown, M7 downtown West side, and five minutes walk to central park. It’s easy to get anywhere from here- see my reviews!
The apartment has another bedroom/study, which is not for rent - when I am in town I stay there.
Also close by is the Columbia University campus, many great restaurants are around the corner on 'restaurant row' of Harlem (aka Frederick Douglass Blvd between West 112th-125th Sts). Super markets, organic grocery stores, wine bars, bars with live music are all within walking distance. Lido, Harlem Tavern, Melba's, Zoma, 67 Orange St, and the Bier Bar, Jado Sushi are a few of my favorite restaurants near me.
About the apartment:
I’ve set things up to be simple and comfortable. There is ample storage space for your things, a Temurpedic double-bed with 100% cotton linen, a well-appointed kitchen if you like to cook (VitaMix blender, pressure cooker, microwave, toaster oven, etc), a washing machine (and outdoor clothesline), wifi, AC, and filtered water.
Linens, towels and continental breakfast provided. I have maps, guidebooks, a list of great places in the neighborhood and plenty of info on museums, bike rentals, etc.
I have a few simple rules: Nonsmokers only please, and please remove your shoes in the entryway to my apartment.
About the building:
The building is more than 100 years old and has no elevator. My apartment is on the 5th floor so you must walk up 4 flights of stairs! If you need assistance with your luggage and I am available, I will assist. My trustworthy neighbor has my spare key and will greet you if I can't be there for any reason. The building is secure and has an intercom and buzzer and security cameras.
**(FAVOR DE LLENAR SU PERFIL E INCLUIR SU FOTO ANTES DE PEDIR ALOJAMIENTO) Mi limpio y agradable apartamento está situado junto a Morningside Park en el Upper
Manhatttan.
NON-smokers only please! Remove your shoes when you come in and leave your key on the key hook (this way you/I know when one of us is home as soon as you walk in the door). Quality linens and towels provided.

I would like all my guests to enjoy their time here and respectfully ask that you treat me and my home with respect and consideration. I will do the same.

We stayed with Elise for a week and it was a great experience!
She is such a great person and makes you feel right at home.
The appartment is very nice and really comfortable.
We had a great time!
We had a fantastic time in Elise's apartment! It's a really cozy hut :-). Subway, Central Park and supermarket are only a few minutes away.
Every day began with a tasty breakfast - sponsored by "our busy bee" Elise! When we got back in the evenings, it always felt like coming home.
The second half of our stay Elise was with us and she's a great host - always friendly, funny and interested in making each day for us to the best day in NY!
Thank you Elise for the great unforgettable time in NY, especially Easter Sunday with you - everything was so amazing!
It was such a great time at Elise apartment. She helped us in all kinds of things, especially she gave us insider tipps. We liked her apartement and felt us like home. We will never forget the time at this apartment and of course in this exiting city. If we come back to New York City, we will definitely come back to Elise apartment :-)
We stayed at Elise's apartment for one week and even though she wasn't there we felt welcome and comfortable. We had the chance to live like real New Yorkers in our "own" apartment in Harlem. What a fun! Elise, thank you for everything, especially the bottle of red wine we tasted at New Year's Eve! Hope we will get to know you next time.

If you are going to visit NY, I can highly recommend to stay at Elise. She can give you plenty of advice where to go, is very considerate and the place is cosy and clean. The Metro is close (2 min. walk), restaurants, grocery stores and bars are across the street.
Elise is a great host and it was lovely to share her home after a time on the road. Very convenient location, everything worked out very well for us and Elise helped us find another place when we decided to stay an extra night and she could not have us. The little extras provided by Elise made the stay comfortable and memorable.
Staying at Elise’s B&B was great! Every night when you are returning from a downtown Manhattan walk or a Yankee match in The Bronx, it was a bit like coming home in this cozy apartment. Next to that, she is very helpful and told us about all hotspots, restaurants, lunchrooms etc. in the neighborhood.
Great staying with you Elise!
We had a wonderful time staying at Elise's cozy hut! A nice and comfortable apartment, a lovely kitchen where you can use the fridge and everything else you need. We're very thankful to have such a great host! Elise gave us the right information and also we had a lot of fun talking to her. This is a real New York City experience! An important plus: the bed is amazing!
Elise is a wonderful host. Our stay at her place has been perfect. The flat is nice and neat, the bedroom large enough and the bed very confortable.
It is moreover very close to the North-West corner of Central Park and in a quiet area.
You can book, we definitely advice.
I had a nice stay at the apartment of Elise. You get the master bedroom and an enthusiastic host with expert knowledge of NYC for alternative tourists. I couldn't benefit of it because it was a 'working trip'.
I enjoyed the chats with Elise, a woman with interesting political views and the heart on the right place.
