Me and my two friends were super happy to stay at this apartment. The location was great with the subway almost outside the door. Mike was nice and made us feel at home. We would definately recommend this place if you want to go to New York. :-)
We have just arrived at home. We have spent a week in this apartment. The beds are comfortable to rest and the room was really clean. The rest of the apartment is not as big as we imagined taking a look to the photos. It is really well comunicated with the rest of Manhattan. We didn't see Mike a lot, but he was kind when we met. The building is not really nice but it is not a bad place to spend a days in NY.
Clean room in a clean flat. Mike was super cool and the location in the heart of Chinatown is awesome if you want somewhere away from all the Times Square nonsense. Would definitely use again!
The room was too small for the 3 of us and you couldn´t open a window in the whole flat. It was really hot in NYC, when we were there. "Fresh air" was only provided by air condition. We didn´t see Mike very often, but he is a friendly, decent guy. The place is o.k. for young people who don´t mind living in a shared flat for a while. We wouldn´t recommend the place for a family, but it´s well situated and easy to reach.
Mike, the guy who is linving in the house is a nice guy, however John ask us for more money than the web request.
Great place and Mike was really nice! The appartment itself was very clean and I really liked that there were 2 seperate double beds. We had to share the bathroom and kitchen with 3 others, but this never caused any problems, since we could sign in for the bathroom each morning. The appartment is also almost next to a subway station, so you can easily travel all through Manhattan. Only downside of it that there was one window, but this could not be opened... Overall a great place for a good prize!
My teenage daughter and I rented a room in january 2015. It was during wintertime so it was cold outside. The heater in the house works perfectly but it was a little bit too warm for us compared to the outside temperature. Opening the only openable window in the living room, or sleeping with the airconditioning on, helped a bit to reduce the heat.
The room is located at an ideal, central place in Lower Manhattan. The beds were fantastic to sleep on. Mike is a very friendly and hospitable man who gave us the feeling that his house was our house.
I stayed with my two children and we had a really nice time. Mike was very helpful and kind. The room was clean, we had everything we needed even though it was quite small, but we were expecting that and it wasn't a problem. We used the room as a base to sight-see and the location was brilliant - so close to the subway and we all really enjoyed being in Chinatown, with great restaurants nearby. The only thing worth mentioning is that there are a lot of steep steps up to the apartment so it wouldn't be good for anyone who has an issue with climbing stairs as there is no lift. For us, it was no problem.
Henry Street lies in the middle of China Town. You get an authentic insight inton the life of the derscendants of the chinese emigrants.
China Town lies not far from the financial destrict, so you can reach it by walking easily. But it is also very easy to use the public traffic system from here.
You can reach every point of NYC from Henry Street within minutes. Our host was friendly and it was possible to reach him every time by telefon which helped us a lot by arriving from JFK airport to Henry Street. Prize was OK. If you do not more than sleeping and taking a shower next morning you are right here- NYC do not sleep so what about expensive luxury. In summary I give 4 of 5 points. I will come back...Peter and Chris
